The Wellfleet Public Library will be hosting authors Tom Sleigh and Kai Maristed for an evening of reading and conversation.

Sleigh will read from his new book, Rosie: A Memoir of Farewell, the extraordinary account of his mother’s life as told from the vantage of her death: her decision—with Sleigh’s help—to take her own life at the age of 97. Sleigh’s book is accompanied by a short film series by Ed Robbins featuring vignettes and poems from the memoir.

Maristed is the author of three novels: Broken Ground (2003), Fall (1996) and Out After Dark (1993) and a collection of stories, Belong to Me (1997). Her work has appeared in Ploughshares, The Kenyon Review, AGNI, The American Scholar, and others. She heads the anti-poverty NGO Technology Exchange Lab Inc.. A translator and playwright fluent in three languages, she has taught at the MFA level at Harvard University, Emerson College and the Warren Wilson Program for Writers. She lives in Paris, France and Wellfleet.
